Elisa: “Mommy, where is your Mom’s mom??”
Mommy: “She is in heaven.”
Elisa: “Does your mom have to drive far to go see her?”
M: “No, she can’t drive to visit her.”
E: “Why not?”
M: “Because heaven is where you go when you die.”
E: “Ohhh. So like those people who wear the wings and the circles on their heads are there too?”
M: “Yes. Angels. They live in heaven.”
E: “And we can’t go visit them?”
M: “No.”
E: “Mommy, I don’t want you to ever go to heaven, ok?”
M: “Ok, Elisa. I will stay with you as long as I can. I won’t go to heaven for a long, long time if I can help it.”
I pray I can help it and not go to heaven for a long time. I would not want to miss these moments even though paradise sounds great when life is not fun.
I love my children.
