words to keep you going

Filed under: Uncategorized — Melanie @ 2:41 am

I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
stepped in and saved the day
but once again, I say “Amen,”
and its still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear you whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God that gives
And takes away

I’ll Praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will Praise You in this storm
I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can i carry on
If I can’t Find you
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear you whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God that gives
And takes away
I’ll Praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will Praise You in this storm
I lift my eyes onto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of Heaven and Earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of Heaven and Earth
I’ll Praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I’ve cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will Praise You in this storm
And though my heart is torn
I will Praise You in this storm…

Think you’ve got it bad? The author of this song and the lead singer of Casting Crowns has a space on their website dedicated to how their songs have helped people through hard times. He has also written a book about the people who have inspired their songs. Go read a few and then thank God for the life you are living…and if life seems awful, Praise Him in the storm. You will come through.

disgusted continued

The saga continues.

Read the article about the doctors who are going to be charged with murder in New Orleans because they administered lethal doses of medicine to terminal patients who were stuck in the 110 degree hospital 5 days after the hurricane and had absolutely no sign of help or rescue.

What next?

A lot of people died in New Orleans because of neglect. The government, the leaders, neglected to get help to those who need it. Those doctors were helping people who were suffering. Sure, there is a great debate about mercy killing going on in this country already and this just adds to it. But I think the situation was a bit more, um, dire, in New Orleans last year than in other situations. I don’t know all of the facts, I will admit. I would even go as far to say that none of us will ever know the real truth about what happened there unless we lived it or have been there.

It’s just sad that now we are pointing fingers and starting to blame and punish instead of continuing to rebuild and regrow and allow the city to come back to life.

On a good note, WAY TO GO SAINTS! Welcome back to the refurbished Superdome! Good article…

disgusted

That is not even harsh enough of a word to describe how i feel about the tragedy that became New Orleans last year following Katrina. Some people say i am obsessed with this issue and the damage and lack of restoration that has gone on after the storm and levee breaches. I don’t care. I saw people suffer and have yet to see resolution to that. It bothers me.

Here is what lead to this so-called obsession. (more…)
