to say that my sarah has been going through a rough patch lately would be a terrible understatement. she has been boycotting bathing and going to sleep, and her boycott insists of screaming, yelling, crying, hitting, kicking, throwing things, and all out fighting amongst everyone. each night has been a struggle until she finally gives in or we figure out something to appease her for the night. it has been tiring, upsetting, emotionally and physically draining, and i can’t even remember the last night my husband and i slept in our bed, next to each other, alone, for an entire night. the breakdowns have caused more breakdowns in the mommy very much and this entire month between the sicknesses and then this has just seemed like one big giant downer.

as i write this to you, on some random turn of events, sarah and maria are in their beds. sarah is not screaming and fighting, they are discussing world issues or hunger or politics or something. i left the door open at sarahs request and can’t tell if she is up or laying down still, but regardless - SHE ISNT YELLING AT ME AND SCREAMING TO GET OUT!!!!

i am sure it’s too soon to brag about that and i have probably just jinxed myself and she will be out here and fighting with me any second, but i had to describe this so i could explain how i am sitting here COMPLETELY NERVOUS AND STRUNG OUT AND ON PINS AND NEEDLES wondering if i have possibly gained my evenings back.

i will let you, my dear wordpress journal and holder of all my vents, know how it goes. right now i have to sneak a peek because its actually getting quieter and if she fell asleep, i will have to get up and do 10 minutes of a silent dance of joy!!!

Coming to you live from the sicky-Coyle house! Everyone has a stomach bug…again. Poor little Steve had to go into the after-hours pediatricians office and get an IV and bloodwork because he threw up so much Saturday night. Little Maria is still having issues with her tummy and some explosive diapers, and Elisa has thrown up 5 times tonight. FUN TIMES! Sarah has not thrown up but once…however, she has given up baths and bedtime and when it’s time for either she throws a complete tantrum and has a meltdown. It’s been quite the interesting weekend here at home.

On the upside, I have an amazing husband who has been helping me deal with all of this with minimal complaining. He was able to take an extra day off so we could deal with this because nobody got much sleep at all Saturday night, and he let me get away from it all today to recover as I walked the aisles of Walmart. Not to mention he has done a bang up job trying to disinfect everything our kids come in contact with and even help clean up for company we are having. Good man, I say. Getting out today was a nice break and I was ready to continue through the cooking and laundry and such when I returned home. Thanks to Steve for pitching in when it counts. It’s times like these that being a parent is really a thankless job.

Ah, Sarah is up and fighthing again so blogging ends here. Yes, this is just 2 weeks after everyone had the other stomach bug. Anyone have a lysol or disinfectant bomb we can set off in our apartment so this crud goes away ONCE AND FOR ALL!?!?!?! Ugh. Tune in next time when we hope to discuss other things besides poop and puke. Peaceout.
