I had to get that out. Thanks! Yeah, I posted that song yesterday because I have heard it repeatedly when I turn on Christmas music at work and it has spoken to me. There WILL be peace on earth and good will to men this year, somehow. I believe. ;)

Speaking of believing - check out what our local Christian radio station says about Santa. I think it’s awesome. There is a Santa and even those nutty Christians believe!!! How cool is that?

I have been listening to the Z at work because I really enjoy some of the non-traditional Christmas songs that our Christian artists have come out with. They speak to my heart, which admittedly needs some work here as of late. What a great way to jump start me back into worship. I really needed this time of year to come around, apparently. Thanks, Lord, for again getting my attention. You Rule.

    Funny you should mention the 3 gifts things Amy - we have adapted that tradition this year! :) The kids are getting 3 gifts a piece just as Jesus got 3 gifts. I haven't decided if Santa will bring the 3 or if we will get each of them 6 because we are very broke this year, but either way gift giving will go with the Christmas story. It will also help me to keep in balance when deciding what to get them since I have to make sure everything is even for the most part. We have a few books and a Children's Bible we are reading the kids nightly to tell them about the true Christmas story. I am not sure if they get it or not. :) In time, I suppose.

    When do we get another Bethany song? I would love to see a concert soon! :D

    Great article. We have some friends at church who don't do Santa but they are really good about not "ruining" it for others. We do Santa, but we don't make Christmas all about him. We often ask Bethany why we celebrate Christmas. Most of the time she gets it right. :) It depends on what she was doing just prior to our asking!

    My mom also started a tradition late in my teens that we've carried on: we each got three gifts for Christmas, because (according to tradition) that's what Jesus received from the Magi. Since we are still in the Santa years, they get 3 from him and 3 from us. Plus a stocking. We haven't come out and explained that to Bethany yet but we figure as she gets older she'll realize the meaning. Plus, it makes it REALLY easy for me to stay on budget when I go shopping!!
