a pointed Christmas song

Filed under: Uncategorized — Melanie @ 10:07 am

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play
And mild and sweet their songs repeat
Of peace on earth good will to men

And the bells are ringing
Like a choir they’re singing
In my heart I hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

And in despair I bowed my head
There is no peace on earth I said
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men

But the bells are ringing
Like a choir singing
Does anybody hear them?
Peace on earth, good will to men

Then rang the bells more loud and deep
God is not dead, nor does He sleep
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men

Then ringing singing on its way

The world revolved from night to day
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men

And the bells they’re ringing
Like a choir they’re singing
And with our hearts we’ll hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

Do you hear the bells they’re ringing?
The life, the angels singing
Open up our heart and hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

Peace on earth, Peace on earth
Peace on earth, Good will to men

by Casting Crowns…think on that one a bit.

so if everyone else can not blog in FOREVER and then come back to it, I can too!

I thought I’d start a livejournal and move this over to there - bah, too much work. I thought I’d just quit journaling - but honestly where else do I get such a free outlet to express how I am feeling? So, hopefully it’s back. For good. Though our website design is like a year and a half old, I can keep moving on the journal until I get that fixed. Right? Right. Okay then.

I feel compelled to update everyone on my family and the kids but honestly, if you are around, you know how they are. They are wonderful, smart, growing, blossoming - getting ready for Santa, so excited…I could go on and on. Just come see them and you can catch their excitement, it’s so contagious.

As for me, well - diet fully backslidden, work is tough, 3 semesters away from graduation - such is life, right? But I have a wonderful and supportive husband and mom and am pushing through the best I can. I am sure things will get better…

Right now, though, I really wouldn’t mind putting something through a wall. Or breaking glass. Isn’t the sound of glass breaking the most THERAPUTIC sound in the world???

I really could use some Son.

It’s love

Filed under: Uncategorized — Melanie @ 12:08 am

Is it the face of a child
Is it the thrill of danger
Is it the kidness we see in the eyes of a stranger
Is is more than faith
Is is more than hope
Is is waiting for us at the end of our rope

I say it’s love
I say it’s love

Is it the one you call home
Is it the Holy Land
Is is standing right here holding your hand
Is it just like the movies
Is it rice and white lace
Is it the feeling I get when I wake to your face

I say it’s love
I say it’s love

Is it the first summer storm
Is it the colors of fall
Is it having so little
And yet having it all
Is it one in a million
Is it a change to belong
Is it standing right here singing this song

I say it’s love
I say it’s love

Is it a veil or a cross
Is it the poet’s gift
Is it the face that has launched over thousands of ships

Is it making you laugh
Is it letting you cry
Is it where we believe that we go when we die
Is it how you were made
Is it your mother’s ghost
Is it the wish that I’m wishing for you life, for your life, for your life the most

First, let it be known that I positively suck at blogging and updating. First step to recovery is admitting you have a problem!
